Overview

At each level, Christian Community Schools offers a planned curriculum with appropriate academic activities designed to assist each child. The program challenges and encourages the children to develop confidence to succeed in life. This begins in the younger years as the foundation is constructed and builds until a student is prepared to enter high school.

Special Features & Electives

  • Computers - PC operating systems lab with CD-ROM and Internet access, includes master keyboarding skills, word processing skills (writing, editing, formatting, printing), spreadsheets (data management, sort, layout, formulas) and research tools (multimedia encyclopedia, atlas, dictionary and subject specific software for literature, social science, physics, biology and chemistry).
  • Journalism/Yearbook - Produces school newspaper, The CCS Times,and the school yearbook. Skills learned include reporting, interviewing, editing, layout design and procurement.
  • Spanish - Prepares students for high school language. The trimester course includes basic language, culture and field trips.
  • Sports - Physical education classes are offered daily to develop skills. Interscholastic competition includes:Boys & girls – softball, basketball, volleyball and soccer.
  • Art - Elective course taught by a professional art instructor.
  • Student Government Opportunities - Student council and safety patrol.
  • Algebra - For 8th grade students
  • Science Labs
  • Advanced Jazz & Classical Band along with Free individual instrument instruction
